Discrimination with Patients and Medically Fit Persons in Dubai

United Arab Emirates.jpg

My name is Charanjeet Singh, an Indian national.

March 2013, I received employment in a law firm in D.I.F.C. [Dubai International Financial Centre], when I appeared for medical test at al Muhaisna medical centre [A part of D.H.A i.e. [Dubai Health Authority], suspected that i have old T.B scar. I was deported immediately after scanning, without given me a right to appeal.

I went to A.I.I.M.S [All India Institute of Medical Sciences] hospital at New Delhi and done all my checkups i.e. Skin test [Mantoux] twice, Chest x-ray, Blood test, 3 times Sputum test and a Chest C.T Scan too on special advise by senior doctor to have a close look at the scar.

Based on my test reports, A.I.I.M.S issued me the Certificate stating that I do not have any active T.B. Senior doctors [A.I.I.M.S] asked me why did they deported you when there is no sign of T.B in our body??

3rd December 2013 at Asia’s well known Tuberculosis Hospital in New Delhi i.e.[L R S - T.B Hospital] have checked my all reports and done my chest x-ray and culture test thrice at their hospital. All reports are negative as on date.

15th January 2014, Latest report from All India Institute of Medical Sciences [AIIMS] hospital, New Delhi has given me fitness certificate stating NO HISTORY OF TUBERCULOSIS IN MY BODY & NO HISTORY OF TUBERCULOSIS IN MY FAMILY.

20th January 2014 and 22nd January 2014, most recent test reports conducted from two different Pathological labs for the same test on different dates i.e. QUANTIFERON TB GOLD TEST (specially designed for detecting latent or old tuberculosis) are also Negative.

As per written reports and India’s super specialty hospitals, there is no evidence of either Active or Latent Tuberculosis in my body at all.

Neither I, while working and staying in my home country or Dubai, nor my parents had any kind of T.B infection in their lifetime.

I really felt humiliation from U.A.E and felt depressed about this outdated law of deporting the patients just like a prisoner after he completes his punishment. I never expected this kind of behavior from U.A.E as happened with me.

Medical support is zero (0) in United Arab Emirates for these patients. I am surprised; in this era also these kind of inhumane laws exist!

http://www.thenational.ae/news/uae-news/health/deportatio... clearly mentioned by Dr. Mario Raviglione [Director at W.H.O), this is absolute discrimination.

My petition is online to Read and Share for the awareness of general public i.e.

I have lost a lot because of an outdated law, I wish from my core - no one should face the same in their life without any reason.

I am feeling ashamed to say about the health support given in United Arab Emirates.

Expecting necessary action to be taken on this issue at the earliest.

EU support for Israeli crimes

EU support for Israeli crimes makes it unworthy of Nobel Peace Prize

15 October 2012

The European Union is not “merely hypocritical” in its relationship with Israel, it is “complicit in crimes against the Palestinian people.” This is one of the main conclusions of David Cronin’s compellingly-argued book Europe’s Alliance With Israel: Aiding the Occupation.

In fact, the European Union is steadily upgrading its relations with Israel while overwhelming, and growing, public majorities across Europe’s largest nations view Israel “mostly negatively.” According to a recent BBC GlobeScan poll, Israel is on a par with North Korea as the third worst perceived country in the world (“Views of Europe slide sharply in global poll, while views of China improve,” GlobeScan, 10 May).

With the entrenchment of its occupation, colonization and apartheid against the Palestinians, its fanatic-right government’s hubristic and bellicose policies, and the impressive growth of the non-violent Palestinian-led, global boycott, divestment and sanctions (BDS) movement for Palestinian rights, Israel is gradually losing hearts and minds across the world and becoming the world pariah, as South Africa once was, during apartheid.

Desmond Tutu, the South African archbishop, is particularly eloquent in accusing Israel of the crime of apartheid (“Tutu condemns Israeli ‘apartheid’,” BBC News, 29 April 2002). The Russell Tribunal on Palestine — at its 2011 Cape Town session — determined that Israel is practicing apartheid against the entire Palestinian people, according to the definition of apartheid adopted by the UN in 1973 (“Findings of the South African session,” Russell Tribunal on Palestine, 5-7 November 2011 [PDF]).

Worse than South Africa

South African Christian leaders who played a decisive role in fighting apartheid have condemned Israel’s apartheid as “even worse than South African apartheid” (“An Easter message from South Africa to Palestine,” Oikumene, 31 March 2010). And the publisher of Haaretz, an influential Israeli daily, has recently described a fanatic Israeli ideology of “territorial seizure and apartheid” (“The necessary elimination of Israeli democracy,” 25 November 2011).

Increasingly, international jurists, human rights organizations and activists, as well as international public opinion are recognizing Israel’s unique regime of oppression against the Palestinians as encompassing the crime of apartheid, in addition to occupation, ethnic cleansing and settler colonialism.

With its continued siege of Gaza; its untamed construction of illegal colonies and an apartheid wall in the occupied West Bank, especially in and around Jerusalem; its “strategy of Judaization” in Jerusalem, the Galilee, the Jordan Valley and the Naqab (Negev); its adoption of new racist laws and its denial of the UN-stipulated right of the Palestinian refugees to return to their homes from which they were ethnically cleansed during the Nakba, Israel has embarked on a more belligerent and violent phase in its attempt to extinguish the question of Palestine through literally “disappearing” the Palestinians, as Edward Said would say.

Prison camp

The most criminal and pressing aspect of Israel’s oppression of the Palestinians is without doubt its Western and Egyptian-backed hermetic siege of the occupied Gaza Strip, which even British Prime Minister David Cameron has described as a “prison camp” (“David Cameron: Israeli blockade has turned Gaza Strip into a ‘prison camp’,” The Guardian, 27 July 2010). The systematic Israeli targeting of Gaza’s water and sanitation facilities has compounded an already “severe and protracted denial of human dignity,” according to Maxwell Gaylard, the UN humanitarian coordinator for the occupied Palestinian territory, causing “a steep decline in standards of living for the [Palestinians] of Gaza, characterized by erosion of livelihoods, destruction and degradation of basic structure, and a marked downturn in the delivery and quality of vital services in health, water and sanitation” (“Humanitarian organizations deeply concerned about the ongoing water and sanitation crisis in Gaza,” Association of International Development Agencies, 3 September 2009).

A 2009 report by Amnesty International affirmed that, “90–95 percent of the water supply [in Gaza] is contaminated and unfit for human consumption” (“Troubled waters: Palestinians denied fair access to water,” October 2009 [PDF]).

The report cites an earlier study by the UN Environmental Programme which correlates the widespread contamination of Gaza’s water resources to the rise in nitrate levels in the groundwater “far above the WHO [World Health Organization] accepted guideline,” inducing a potentially lethal blood disorder in young children and newborns called methemoglobinaemia, or the “blue babies” phenomenon.

Some of the detected symptoms of this disease in Gaza infants include “blueness around the mouth, hands and feet,” “episodes of diarrhea and vomiting,” and “loss of consciousness.” “Convulsions and death can occur” at higher levels of nitrate contamination, the report concludes (“Environmental assessment of the Gaza Strip following the escalation of hostilities in December 2008-January 2009,” September 2009 [PDF].)

At the conclusion of Israel’s war of aggression on Gaza in late 2008 and early 2009, which led to more than 1,400 deaths, mostly civilians, EU leaders dashed to occupied Jerusalem to celebrate with Israel’s then prime minister Ehud Olmert, promising to support Israel in fighting “terror” (“World leaders push for lasting truce in Gaza,” The New York Times, 18 January 2009).

So, when the European Union, which is still actively colluding to maintain the Gaza siege, launches a relatively expensive public relations campaign all over Gaza — and the West Bank — with its main slogan, “Your Priorities are ours,” without a hint of sarcasm, it seems to be sending the Palestinians under occupation two blunt messages: first, we could not care less about your loss of human lives, freedoms and dignity, and second, “We set the priorities, you adopt them as yours, or else we cut funding” (“The priorities of the European Union are not ours,” MWC News, 18 July 2011).

January 9, 2005

AUCKLAND - New Zealand supplied Agent Orange chemicals to the United States military during the Vietnam war, a government minister has revealed.

The disclosure led to immediate claims that New Zealand was in breach of the Geneva convention and could face a flood of lawsuits from veterans and Vietnamese.

Transport Minister Harry Duynhoven said the highly toxic chemical was sent to a United States base in the Philippines during the 1960s.

"The information that has been given to me is that products used to make Agent Orange were shipped from New Plymouth to Subic Bay in the Philippines," he told the Sunday News newspaper.

After nearly three decades of official denials, a high-level parliamentary committee formally acknowledged late last year that New Zealand soldiers in the Vietnam War were significantly exposed to Agent Orange, but no mention was ever made that the country was a supplier.

Although the National Party was in power during the Vietnam War, Duynhoven said his current Labour government was responsible for setting the record straight.

"Any government has to deal with the situation it finds itself in and it's always a problem if previous governments leave a mess."

Veterans spokesman John Moller said the government must compensate ex-soldiers and their families, some of whom have suffered generations of health problems.

"It's bloody unacceptable what the New Zealand government has done to us and the other countries involved in the war," he said.

"Through their deceit, cover-up and negligence, the New Zealand government has the blood of thousands of Kiwis, Vietnamese, Australians and Americans on their hands."

Under the Geneva Convention, countries cannot be party to chemical warfare and must declare the use or supply of defoliants during conflicts.

The vice-chancellor of Canterbury University, Scott Davidson, an authority on international law, said the government had left itself open to lawsuits from Vietnamese.

NATO swims in luxury - Syrian people suffers

While the Syrian population suffers from terrorist attacks carried out by armed groups paid and armed by the U.S. and its allies, NATO swims in luxury...

Syria is still under the rule of French colonisers

Syria.under the rule of French colonisers.jpg

Photo taken in 1941: French General Georges Catroux is walking next to Nur-Eddin al-Khatib, the grandfather of Mouaz al-Khatib, the incumbent president of the National Coalition for Opposition Forces and the Syrian Revolution.

70 years has passed since France lost Syria as one of its colonies and was forced to recognise its independence. As recent events have shown, however, France just cannot ignore the colonial itch. It is doing everything to regain its sovereignty, although this time around, even if they conquer Syria, it would no longer be full sovereignty since France would have to share it with the USA, Turkey and other NATO partners. This is not troubling Hollande, however, who is backing every reprobate in Syria so long as the reprobate’s position falls within the neocolonial plans of France’s false socialists.

Back in the summer, French Prime Minister Jean-Marc Ayrault did not hesitate in saying that France was supplying Syrian fighters with communication equipment and other technology. He spoke as though the equipment was not for the purpose of killing.

And now the pseudo-socialist François Hollande has held a meeting with the old collaborator’s grandson, Mouaz al-Khatib. After the meeting in Paris, the ambassador of the Syrian terrorists showed up – a certain Munzir Makhous who, together with his boss, was part of the delegation who visited the Élysée Palace and implored Hollande to supply the fighters with heavy artillery.

Human rights first: victims of American warfare

orange.victim.american.warfare.jpg“I too am an Agent Orange Second Generation Victim. For years I have felt very isolated and unsure of what to do. I am a wife and mother of 3 healthy children. I am 37 yrs old and was born with Severe Hip Dysplasia. From the time I was 13 months old, I had reconstruction surgery every few years until I was 17 years old and at that time had my 1st Total Hip Replacement. I am now getting ready for my 5th Total Hip Replacement and 4th Pelvic Reconstruction since 17. I am also battling several rare forms of skin cancer that are life threatening. These cancers are seen in older generations that have had "extreme carcinogenic and pesticide exposure". I have had no direct exposure to these. I have gone through 2 rounds of chemotherapy in the last 4 years only to have the cancer come back stronger. I am in surgery for tumor removal at least once a month. The hundreds of scars on my body are horrific. My Doctors cannot put me through anymore chemotherapy as I have been told my body will not make it. There is a drug that is currently in trials that at the very least would buy me some time. The drug companies manufacturing this have denied me access to the trial as I am "too sick" and would "mess up their numbers". I have gone several rounds with the V.A. only to be denied time and again because I don't have Spina Bifida and because my Father served in Vietnam and not my Mother. My Father served in Vietnam during the heaviest spray periods. I have had numerous tests done and every Medical Professional has said without a doubt ALL of my medical issues today and at birth are a DIRECT result of my Father's exposure to Agent Orange. He also has numerous medical conditions ALL of which have been linked to the Agent Orange exposure.”

Palestine: Israel is 'deeply grateful to the United States'

1) On November 15, 2010, U.S. President Barack Obama praised Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu for urging his cabinet to accept a U.S. proposal to extend a freeze on West Bank settlement building for 90 days. Under the plan, Washington would block UN resolutions critical of Israel, and supply Israel with fighter jets worth $3 billion. The US government also promised Israel that after the 90-day moratorium, they would not seek an extension, and settlement construction in the West Bank and East Jerusalem (all of which is illegal under international law) could continue unabated.

2) In February 2011, more than 100 nations voted for a U.N. resolution that would have condemned illegal Israeli settlements and halted any new construction. The United States vetoed it.

3) On February 19, 2011, Israel said it was 'deeply grateful to the United States' after it vetoed a United Nations resolution put forward by the Palestinian leadership condemning Israeli settlement activity.

4) On  Oct 27, 2011, Israeli jetfighters engaged in aerial bombing of the Palestinian city of Khan Yunes in the Gaza Strip.

J-600T Yıldırım

The J-600T Yıldırım (eng: Thunderbolt) is a conventional battlefield ballistic missile system providing high mobility, designed to attack high value targets such as enemy air defence installations, C3I centers, logistics and infrastructure facilities as well as providing fire support to friendly artillery by expanding the area of effect.

Turkey's cooperation with China and Pakistan for the joint development of ballistic missiles began in the late 1970s and early 1980s. The story of Project J, as well as Project Kasırga which preceded it, goes back to the first half of the 1990s, when negotiations for the technology transfer and production under license in Turkey of the American M-270 MLRS artillery rocket system failed. Turkey decided to seek for other alternatives, mainly focusing on full sovereignty over critical technologies in order to establish a self-sufficient national infrastructure for the design and development of guided missiles. After signing a contract for the licensed production of the Chinese WS-1A and WS-1B rockets under the name of Kasırga in 1997, a similar contract was signed with CPMIEC (Chinese Precision Machinery Import and Export Corporation) for the Chinese B-611 SRBM system in 1998, covering the licensed production of a battery of B-611 with more than 200 missiles, at a reported cost of USD 300,000,000.

The J-600T design is based on the B-611 SRBM developed by CASIC (China Aerospace Science and Industry Corporation) as a low cost tactical missile system, with a range of up to 250 km in improved versions such as the B-611M, and as a replacement for the M-11 (CSS-7 and DF-11) missiles in Chinese inventory. CPMIEC officials have confirmed at the IDEF 2007 military fair in Ankara that B-611M, the improved version of B-611, was not a part of the Sino-Turkish cooperation program.

Turkey's Roketsan has been assigned with the task of improving the range, performance and design of the J-600T, and is conducting studies on alternatives such as a sealed pod launcher box design, improved propellant, improved GCU and different types of warhead configurations.

Roketsan is reportedly working on an improved version of J-600T, details of which are highly speculative for the moment. Given that the system was first revealed to the public more than 7 years of its introduction to service, it can be expected that information about the improved version, if there is any, is going to remain secret for some time.

The Yıldırım system is composed of two units: The J-600T SRBM and the F-600T launcher vehicle, which is based on the MAN 26.372 6x6 truck, manufactured in Turkey. The same vehicle is also used for the Turkish-built T-122 Sakarya and T-300 Kasırga MBRL (Multi Barrel Rocket Launcher, or MLRS) systems, providing advantage in logistics. Each F-600T carries one J-600T on an open rail-type launcher and can be prepared for launch in less than 25 minutes, with the vehicle ready to move again in less than 5 minutes. The missile is loaded on to the F-600T vehicle by a crane from a reloading vehicle, again a MAN 26.372 6x6 truck.

The missile's flight is controlled by an INS (Inertial Navigation System) which feeds trajectory correction command inputs to the four moving wings at the nozzle section. The trajectory data is loaded onto the missile's Guidance & Control Unit (GCU) (FCS) on board the F-600T vehicle before the launch. The FCS in F-600T is also supported by BAIKS (Batarya Atış İdare Kompüter Sistemi, eng: Battery Fire Control Computer System) and TOMES (Topçu Meteoroloji Sistemi, eng: Artillery Meteorology System). It is reported that the missile can also be upgraded with a GPS/INS GCU.

Each J-600T Yıldırım battery consists of:

    1 x Battery Command & Control Vehicle
2 x Firing Team Command and Control Vehicles
    6 x F-600T Launcher Vehicles
    7 x F-600T Reload - Resupply Vehicles
    1 x Maintenance Vehicle

The J-600T has been operational with the Turkish Army since 2001, but it was first revealed to the public six years later, during the Victory Day (Zafer Bayramı) parade in Ankara, on August 30, 2007. The TRT (Turkish Radio and Television Corporation) commentator announced the system as the "Yıldırım missile system." During this parade and the following two parades in the same year, both the launchers and the reloading vehicles were displayed to the public. The Yıldırım system was also reported to the United Nations Register of Conventional Arms by Turkey in March 2007.

The J-600T Yıldırım, developed and manufactured by Roketsan, has two versions that are currently in the inventory of the Turkish Armed Forces:

    J-600T Yıldırım I SRBM (150 km range)
J-600T Yıldırım II SRBM (300 km range)
J-600T Yıldırım III SRBM (900 km range in development)

Manufacturer: Roketsan (Turkey)
Launcher vehicle: F-600T (Based on MAN 26.372 6x6)
Warhead type: TNT+RDX
Fuze: Proximity
Guidance: INS
Range: 150 km (J-600T Yıldırım I); 300 km (J-600T Yıldırım II)
Diameter: 600 mm
Length: 6.10 m
Weight, total: 2,100 kg
Weight, warhead: 480 kg
Propellant type: HTPB (Composite)
CEP: < 150 m (for J-600T Yıldırım I)

Erdoğan misleads Turkish people

Turkey is one of five European nations that continue to house U.S. tactical nuclear weapons allocated for NATO.

Some months ago, Obama signed a secret order authorizing U.S. support for Syrian terrorists and C.I.A. officers are operating secretly in southern Turkey. The weapons, including automatic rifles, rocket-propelled grenades, ammunition and some antitank weapons, are being funneled mostly across the Turkish border by way of a shadowy network of intermediaries including Syria’s Muslim Brotherhood and paid for by Turkey, Saudi Arabia and Qatar.

The United States is setting up joint military, intelligence and 'medical' working teams with Israel, Turkey and Jordan.

On October 4, 2012, Adm. George Stavridis, the commander of US European Command (USEUCOM) and NATO’s Supreme Allied Commander Europe (SACEUR), met with Chief of General Staff Gen. Necdet Ozel in Ankara. The meeting took place at General Staff headquarters but was only announced to the public in a statement released by the General Staff some days later. The talks were closed to the press and the statement did not elaborate on what Stavridis and Ozel discussed. It proved once again that the Turkish government is not only arming Syrian terrorists but organizes with its NATO allies (with Israel in the background) also a real war against Syria.

War on Syria - War on Egypt in 1956…

British MP George Galloway.jpgGalloway: Global War on Syria Similar to War on Egypt in 1956… Syrian Leadership Will Not Be Defeated

Oct 30, 2012

BEIRUT, (SANA) – British MP George Galloway affirmed that the global war currently being waged on Syria is similar to the one waged against Egypt in 1956, voicing confidence that Syria will be victorious over this war under the leadership of President Bashar al-Assad similar to the victory of the late Jamal Abdelnasser.

During a meeting with former Lebanese President Emil Lahhoud in Beirut on Tuesday, Galloway stressed that the Syrian leadership will not be defeated, underlining the need for the plan launched by former UN Envoy to Syria Kofi Annan to bear fruit and for countries to stop providing military support to the Syrian opposition.

Western powers invest in military interventions

Kenyan communities in Dadaab.dramatic.refugee.situation..jpg

Oct 29, 2012

France and the United States have put more pressure on Algeria to support a military intervention in crisis-hit African country of Mali.

"An intervention in northern Mali is possible without the military backing of Algeria but not without its green light," said the head of the Centre of African Studies, a French think-tank, Pierre Boilley on Sunday.

The military officials of the US and France reportedly held a secret meeting in Paris earlier this month in a bid to draw a plan for military action in Mali to help the Bamako government fight the so-called al-Qaeda-affiliated radicals in the country’s north.

France, the former colonial master of Algeria and Mali, discussed the crisis that has split Mali in two since March during a visit by Foreign Minister Laurent Fabius in July.

American Defense Secretary Leon Panetta said last week that the Pentagon is working with allies on a plan to deal with 'al-Qaida-linked militants in Mali and elsewhere in the North Africa region', with American assistance likely to center on intelligence and logistical support.

Since 2007, the U.S. has spent more than $550 million to help train and supply an African proxy force of about 18,000 soldiers in Somalia.

Many Western powers fear the Sahara desert nation could become like Afghanistan and, like everywhere, they invest on the first place in military interventions.

Currently the Horn of Africa is experiencing the highest rate of malnutrition. Some 30 per cent of children are suffering from Global Acute Malnutrition (GAM).

American poor and Syrian people are victims of the American war industry

American.poor.jpgOctober 29, 2012 - For the fourth consecutive day, the armed terrorist groups in Deir Ezzor continued violating the declaration on suspending military operations which the Armed Forces have committed to.

An official source told SANA that terrorist groups on Monday committed acts of aggression and sabotage in al-Shheil area in the countryside of the province.

The source said the Armed Forces repelled the terrorists inflicting heavy losses upon them and destroying their cars.

Armed Forces Respond to Armed Terrorist Groups' Violations of Ceasefire in Damascus Countryside

In Harasta city in Damascus Countryside, a unit of the Armed Forces confronted a terrorist group which was perpetrating acts of sabotage near al-Hassan Mosque and al-Thanawiya Square, leading to eliminating a number of terrorists and seizing their weapons.

An official source told SANA reporter that a field hospital was found near the mosque with a huge quantity of medical drugs and equipment.

The source added that a unit of the Armed Forces responded to an armed terrorist group that attacked citizens and law-enforcement forces in Irbeen town in Damascus countryside and eliminated a number of terrorists.

Another unit of the Armed Forces eliminated a group of armed terrorists who attacked law-enforcement forces and sabotaged public and private properties in Zamalka town.

Terrorist Groups Attack Army and Security Checkpoints in Homs

In similar violations, an armed terrorist group opened fire at a number of army and law-enforcement checkpoints in al-Za'faraneh district in the countryside of Homs.

The Armed Forces repelled the attack inflicting heavy losses upon the terrorist group's members.

Another terrorist group opened fire at army checkpoints in Bab Hood neighborhood in the city of Homs. The group was confronted by the army units and had a number of its members killed while others were injured.

On June 29, 2011, an American study has revealed that the cost of U.S. military action in Iraq, Afghanistan and Pakistan will run to at least $3.7trillion.
In human terms, at least 224,000 to 258,000 people have died directly from American warfare. Many more have died indirectly, from the loss of clean drinking water, health care and nutrition. Another 365,000 have been wounded and at least 7.8 million have been displaced.

UN envoy to Syria will visit Moscow

Families Back Home.jpgLavrov: President al-Assad Enjoys the Support of the Majority of Syrian People

Oct 22, 2012

MOSCOW, (SANA) – Russian Foreign Minister, Sergei Lavrov said that President Bashar al-Assad enjoys the support of the majority of the Syrian people, and constitutes a guarantee of security and stability in Syria.

The Russian Russkaya Gazeta newspaper quoted Lavrov as saying that "the Syrian President Bashar al-Assad is supported by the majority of the Syrian people, and he is the guarantee of the safety of minorities in Syria who have been living there for hundreds of years.''

He added that the Europeans admit that more than a third of the Syrian people back President al-Assad ''because he won't allow Syria to become a place where minorities cannot live side by side with their fellow Syrian citizens.''

Lavrov considered the accusations leveled at Syria and President al-Assad as a cover-up of a big geopolitical game that seeks to redraw the Middle East map, through which various players are trying to secure their geopolitical positions, with Iran more in mind than Syria.

He reiterated necessity of commitment to Geneva communiqué, saying ''The principles of Geneva communiqué include a simple agreement that has no alternative,'' reminding that Syria has announced its agreement to the communiqué, and the ball now is in the opposition's court.

Lavrov said that the UN envoy to Syria, Lakhdar Brahimi will visit Moscow next week for consultations with the Russian leadership, hoping that Brahimi will ''endow the principles of Geneva communiqué with an effectual meaning in his current mission.''

Lavrov expressed Russia's understanding of and support to the rights of the Middle East peoples to a better life and that the citizens enjoy respect in their countries , which has been Russia's stance since the outset of developments in the Middle East.

Lavrov: Russia Supports Ending Violence in Syria, Reaching Peaceful Solution without Foreign Interference

Lavrov expressed Moscow's total support to ending violence in Syria and reaching a peaceful solution for the crisis without foreign interference.

In a statement released Monday, Lavrov described the initiative of the UN envoy, Lakhdar Brahimi, on ceasing violence as "important", adding that Russia always supports stopping violence and reaching peaceful solution without foreign interference.

Lavrov called upon all the sides to respond to Brahimi's suggestion as it is a very important step to stop violence and launch the political process that contributes to creating renewable Syria and serving the interests of its people.

Pushkov: What is Happening in Syria Similar to US Misdirection in Iraq

Chairman of the Russian Duma's International Affairs Committee, Alexei Pushkov, said that what is happening currently in Syria is similar to the misdirection carried out by the United States regarding Iraq, and that the US Administration is assuming the same unilateral position and all its media acts as an ideological tool for the administration.

Russia and Iran Call for Unifying Efforts to Solve Crisis in Syria based on Respecting Sovereignty and Independence

Russia and Iran on Monday called on the international community to unify efforts exerted to solve the crisis in Syria based on respecting Syria's sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity and according to Geneva meeting statement and the principal stances of the Non-Aligned Movement which stipulate for ending bloodshed and launching comprehensive Syrian political dialogue.

In a statement, the Russian Foreign Ministry said that Russian President's Special Envoy to Middle East, Deputy Foreign Minister, Mikhail Bogdanov, exchanged views in Tehran on the urgent issues listed on the international and regional agendas focusing on the situation in the Middle East and southern Africa.

The statement said that the two sides expressed deep concerns over the continuation of violence in Syria which has caused victims among the civilians.

The statement added that the participants in the talks held in Tehran supported UN Envoy to Syria Lakhdar Brahimi on announcing a truce in Syria during al-Adha Eid.

Earlier, Bogdanov started a visit to Tehran to discuss the latest developments in the region, particularly the crisis in Syria.

Nobel Peace Prize is a 'call to action'

Nobel Peace Prize 2009

Obama in The Rose Garden: “To be honest, I do not feel that I deserve to be in the company of so many of the transformative figures who have been honored by this prize, men and women who’ve inspired me and inspired the entire world through their courageous pursuit of peace.”

Obama about Afghanistan on CNN: 'The Nobel Peace Prize is a call to action.  I am the commander in chief of a country that is responsible for ending a war and working in another theater to confront a ruthless adversary that directly threatens the American people.'

Obama in his acceptance speech: "War is sometimes necessary, and war is at some level an expression of human feelings"

Angela Merkel of Germany: 'It was an incentive to the president and to us all to do more for peace.'

Former President Nicolas Sarkozy of France: 'The award marked America’s return to the hearts of the world’s peoples.'

The Nobel Peace Prize committee "Only very rarely has a person to the same extent as Obama captured the world's attention and given its people hope for a better future." "His diplomacy is founded in the concept that those who are to lead the world must do so on the basis of values and attitudes that are shared by the majority of the world's population."

Nobel committee chairman, Thorbjorn Jagland: “The question we have to ask is who has done the most in the previous year to enhance peace in the world. And who has done more than Barack Obama?”

Obama signed a secret order authorizing U.S. support for Syrian terrorists seeking to depose Syrian President Bashar al-Assad and his government. Obama’s order, approved earlier this year and known as an intelligence “finding,” broadly permits the CIA and other U.S. agencies to provide support that could help the terrorists oust Assad.  C.I.A. officers are operating secretly in southern Turkey. The United States is setting up joint military, intelligence and medical working teams with Israel, Turkey and Jordan.

'Russian-made cluster bombs' in Syria...

'Syrian government forces have used Russian-made cluster bombs on populated areas in their effort to push back rebel advances along the country's main north-south highway', according to Human Rights Watch. The Syrian Army denied using cluster bombs in its fights against terrorists and by US. armed groups in Syria.

U.S. angry that Afghans banned cluster bombs

December 6, 2010

A secret cable describes how the Bush-era State Department labored to keep the controversial weapons in Afghanistan...

The 2,000-pound "smart" bomb that killed two U.S. special forces troops and injured 20 others in Afghanistan on December 5, 2001 is one of the most modern and precise weapons in America's military arsenal. Such "JDAMs" (joint direct attack munitions) bombs, which are dropped in both 1,000-pound and 2,000-pound versions, were developed after the 1991 Gulf War for more precise day and night use against ground targets through fog, clouds or other bad weather. Here’s another WikiLeaked cable that offers an unfiltered look at a little-discussed aspect of American foreign policy: the Bush-era State Department panicked in 2008 after Afghanistan unexpectedly signed an international treaty banning cluster bombs, with the U.S. fearing that the military could no longer store and use the controversial weapons in Afghanistan.

The December 2008 cable followed an international summit at which Afghanistan and over 90 other countries — not including the U.S. — signed the Convention on Cluster Munitions (CCM), which ban the use of bombs that scatter so-called bomblets over a wide area. Some of the bomblets typically do not explode, creating a deadly hazard for civilians that can last for many years.

Because the treaty prohibits not only the use of cluster bombs, but also the storage of the munitions, the State Department was worried about the fate of the American store of the bombs in Afghanistan. So Washington sent a note to the embassy in Kabul to pressure the Afghan government on this point:

The U.S. Government believes Article 21 of the Convention provides the flexibility for signatories to continue to cooperate and conduct operations with U.S. forces, and in turn for U.S. forces to store, transfer, and use U.S. cluster munitions in the territory of a State Party. The Department requests that Post approach appropriate interlocutors at the Afghan Ministries of Foreign Affairs and Defense to urge Kabul to interpret Article 21 in a similar manner, minimizing any potential impact of Afghanistan,s signature of the Convention on U.S. operations and military cooperation. Given the political sensitivities in Afghanistan surrounding cluster munitions as well as air and artillery strikes in general, the Department believes that a low-profile approach will be the best way to ensure a common understanding that the CCM does not impede military planning and operations between our two governments.

Remarkably, one of the U.S. talking points argued that the use of cluster bombs would actually reduce civilian casualties (emphasis added).

Not allowing the use of cluster munitions will increases risk to Coalition forces engaged in combat from enemy counter-fire, reduce responsiveness, decrease the number of different targets that can be attacked within a specified timeframe, and will substantially increase risks of collateral damage by requiring usage of a greater number of large, unitary warheads to accomplish the same mission.

The Guardian has more on how the U.S. also labored to keep cluster munitions in Britain, which, like Afghanistan, signed the treaty.

Human rights organizations: 'Syrian Army using cluster bombs'

Nossel was drawn directly from the US State Department - again, utterly contradicting Amnesty's claims of being "independent" of governments and corporate interests. She continued promoting US foreign policy, but simply behind a podium with a new logo, Amnesty International's logo, attached to it. Amnesty International's website specifically mentions Nossel's role behind US State Department-backed UN resolutions regarding Iran, Syria, Libya, and Cote d'Ivoire.

America's unjust laws

Letter from a Birmingham Jail

Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. was a major part of many nonviolent protests as he helped lead the fight for desegregation and equal rights. He was arrested numerous times. In 1963, numerous "sit-ins" were staged in Birmingham, Alabama to protest segregation in restaurants and eating facilities. King was arrested during one of these and while he was imprisoned wrote his famous "Letter from a Birmingham Jail." In this letter he argued that only through visible protests would progress be made. He argued that it was an individual's duty to protest and in fact disobey unjusts laws.

'Turkey is a terrorist State...'

As a reminder:

Israeli official to Clinton: 'Declare Turkey a terror-supporting state'

2 September 2011

A hawkish Israeli politician reportedly wrote a letter to US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton on Thursday, asking the US to declare Turkey a terror-supporting state, the Jerusalem Post reported early on Friday.

Danny Danon, who is also deputy Knesset speaker, wrote a letter to Clinton after Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoğlu warned Israel to apologize until the UN releases its report in which he called on Washington to impose sanctions on Turkey and call it a terror-supporting state.

"Turkey has gotten closer to Iran and constitutes a direct continuation of the axis of evil. The government in Washington must answer the Turkish problem before it is too late," Danon wrote, the Jerusalem Post reported.

The Israeli official called for economic and diplomatic sanctions against Turkey until Ankara changes its ways and abandons what he said “the way of terror.”

"The Turks have crossed the line. They supported the flotilla, they support terror and they dare to ask Israel to apologize to them," Danon said.

The United States is setting up joint military, intelligence and medical working teams with Israel, Turkey and Jordan. It proves once again that the Turkish government is not only arming Syrian terrorists but organizes with its NATO allies (with Israel in the background) also a real war against Syria.

Cuba: U.S., European Countries Support Armed Terrorist Groups in Syria

Oct 02, 2012

UNITED NATIONS, (SANA) – Cuba's Foreign Minister, Bruno Rodriguez, stressed that the US and some European countries are seeking to change the Syrian government through providing limitless support to the armed terrorist groups in Syria.

Delivering a speech before the United Nations General Assembly on Monday, which was quoted by the Associated Press news agency, Rodriguez said that the U.S. and its European allies are financing, arming and training the armed terrorist groups and working on recruiting mercenaries to send them to Syria.
